Day 10: Attend an FSU women’s basketball game

10 Jan

Let’s face it, in college athletics, women’s basketball isn’t exactly what most people clamor to go see. Like most college towns, Tallahassee seems to revolve around the FSU football team. So I was pleasantly surprised when I attended an FSU women’s basketball game and there were hundreds of spectators. The tickets are very affordable – $6 for adults, $1 for kids under 12. And the game itself was highly entertaining. Even with my limited knowledge of basketball and tepid enthusiasm for all things Seminole, I got into cheering on the team and even did my very first Tomahawk Chop. I was especially impressed with the FSU band, which played a contemporary mix that included the iTunes success story “Bed Intruder” as well as Cee Lo Green’s “F— You.” Even better – the parking was free.
