Day 45: Dance at Fifth Avenue Tap Room

14 Feb

I stumbled into Fifth Avenue Tap Room on a Saturday night after eating at the nearby Filling Station. A band was playing catchy cover songs of Michael Jackson and U2 and the dance floor was packed with gyrating men and women. Its crowd seemed to be a mix of singles and couples in their 20s, 30s and 40s looking to have a good time. A college bar this is not. Its cover charge was minimal. (We also gained entry to Finnegan’s Wake next door, Tap Room’s sister bar). It was nice to be able to retreat to Finnegan’s whenever we needed a break from the crowded dance floor. Fifth Avenue Tap Room is also a beer connoisseur’s paradise. The bar has more than 25 beers on tap from all over the world.
