Day 68: Dance country at Stetson’s at the Moon

9 Mar

Missing Texas one evening, I had a hankering for some line dancing. Fortunately every Friday night local club The Moon has what they call Stetson’s at the Moon with country music and line dancing. The night I went it was free for ladies and $5 for men. It is 18 and over. I found the atmosphere a bit like the night I played Bingo.  What I mean is there were a lot of “regulars” who knew how to line dance very well. These dances are a bit more complicated than the electric slide. I found that if I at least made an attempt, by the end of the song I had learned the entire line dance. Just stand on the fringes so you don’t run into anybody. There really is no dress code, though about half the patrons wore cowboy boots. Stetson’s is also a major pick-up joint. Single ladies and single men abound.
