Day 137: Sip the soup at Soup Swift

17 May

Soup Swift is the most underrated restaurant in Tallahassee. Most people drive right by the low-profile restaurant without ever noticing it is there. It is oddly tucked inside the Desloge medical supply company, a sterile building that reminds me of an old elementary school. But don’t let the exterior confuse you; Soup Swift is easily one of the best restaurants in Tallahassee. Their menu changes daily because the restaurant tries to use fresh, local ingredients. The day I visited I had a tomato gorgonzola soup that my husband declared was “the best tomato soup I’ve ever had.” He had a corn chowder that was easily tasty and both of us ordered side salads that were scrumptious. The desserts also deserve praise. The lemon cake was perfect in texture and flavor. I left my lunch at Soup Swift raving about the restaurant to everyone I came into contact with that day – it’s that good. It is mainly a breakfast and lunch spot, don’t bother going for dinner. They also deliver and do catering.
