Day 186: Bite into a muffin at Tupelo’s Bakery and Cafe

7 Jul

No small town is complete without its own bakery. Tupelo’s Bakery and Cafe does the job pretty well. The bakery is in Monticello’s historic downtown and shares space with a shop that specializes in all things honey. They’ve got the usual pastries, such as cookies and croissants, as well as lunch fare, like sandwiches and quiches. They have ample seating, unlike some cafes that only come with a small table and a few chairs. You could easily have  a sit-down lunch or breakfast there or cozy up with a book and a hot cup of coffee. One very nice thing about Tupelo’s is their runner’s discounts. If you are a member of the Gulf Winds Track Club you get 10 percent off. The folks at Tupelo’s also cater and can whip up a delicately designed three-tiered wedding cake.

Address: 220 West Washington Street, Monticello, Florida
